Caceres Metropolitan Cathedral Holds 177th Dedication Anniversary
OUR HERITAGE. OUR IDENTITY. — Last April 27, the Archdiocese of Caceres celebrated the 177th Anniversary of the Dedication of the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral, Parish of St. John the Evangelist. The Archbishop, Most Rev Rolando Tirona, OCD, DD lead the Holy Eucharist together with some priests, mostly from the cathedral parish of St. John the Evangelist, headed by Msgr. Noe Badiola, the parish priest.
The Anniversary of the Dedication of the Archdiocesan Cathedral is celebrated as Solemnity in all parishes, chapels and oratories within the Archdiocese of Caceres. Because of its rank in the Table of Liturgical Precedence, it replaces the proper Easter Weekday Mass of Monday in the Third Week.
As we joyfully celebrated the Solemnity of the Cathedral Church dedicated to St. John, the Beloved Apostle and Evangelist, we invoke his intercession for the Church in Caceres, that despite our social and physical distancing, we may never become distant to God our Father, and that we may be strengthened in Faith, Hope, and Love amidst the pandemic.
