Camarines Sur PPO reinforces checkpoints, border control

NAGA CITY --- Instead of relaxing under general community quarantine (GCQ), the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office (CSPPO) has strengthened its control over the borders and checkpoints in anticipation of the influx of more people and vehicles to come in and out of the province.

Police Colonel Roderico A. Roy Jr., CSPPO chief, has dispatched Philippine National Police’s (PNP) personnel in strategic areas where borders and checkpoints are located and ordered them to ensure that border control policies are in place.

Roy said that they are implementing these policies pursuant to Executive No. 6 issued by Camarines Sur Gov. Miguel Luis Villafuerte.

The EO identified authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) who shall be allowed entry in the checkpoints. These include health workers, government officials and employees in the actual performance of duty, or on official business, or with travel orders, especially those involved in health and emergency frontline and other critical services.

Also allowed are all responders of the province for the Covid-19 who shall provide or wear they IDs duly issued by their respective Incident Management Teams or IMTs. Workers of industries or establishments identified under Category I or those offices delivering necessities or services will also be allowed but should provide company IDs or certificate of employment.

The EO further states that persons transiting to the airport to travel abroad, shall also be allowed “provided that departing passengers may be accompanied by not more than one (1) person when travelling to any international port, who shall be allowed to return to his/ her point of origin.”

Mayor Dino Ben E. Regaspi, Camarines Sur Police Strategy Management Unit (POMU), said that border control points shall be strictly manned to ensure that non-APOR and those without any urgent or necessary business to enter the province shall not be allowed entry to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The province’s border points are located in: Del Gallego and in Agos, Bato, Camarines Sur; Patitinan in Sangay; San Roque in Buhi, Sta. Rosa Del Norte in Pasacao, which will cover entrants from Masbate-Pasacao port; Buluang in Bato, to cover residents coming in and out in Bato-Libon boundary.

Regaspi also said that they also placed a dedicated control point at Impig junction Sipocot area and at the Naga Airport in Pili, Camarines Sur.

Quarantine control points shall also remain in the towns of Canaman, Magarao, Camaligan, Gainza, Milaor, and Pili, all in Camarines Sur. (LSMacatangay-PIAV/Camarines Sur)
