2 wanted persons nabbed in CamSur

Police arrested on Sunday, June 21, two wanted persons for the crimes of rape and violence against women and children in separate police stings in Camarines Sur province.

Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, on Monday said police operatives arrested Juanito Sameniano, 50, at his residence in Barangay Consocep in Tigaon town at around 6:00 PM.

The suspect was ranked as Tigaon’s No. 1 most wanted person.

Calubaquib said police operatives served the arrest warrant to the suspect who had been in hiding since 2018. The suspect is facing a complaint for statutory rape before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch in San Jose town.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Regaton, 42, of Magarao town, was collared by police operatives armed with a warrant of arrest in Barangay Baras, Canaman town on June 21 at 5:45 PM.

The suspect labeled as the No. 8 most wanted person in Magarao, Camarines Sur is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act (VAWC) of 2004 before the RTC Magarao Branch under Judge Valentin Pura.

The two arrested suspects will be presented to the courts for disposition. (PNA)
