Partido artists entertain residents after lockdown

SAN JOSE, Camarines Sur --- Some 20 musicians from Partido area performed an online concert on Saturday, June 20 through livestreaming over internet radio station Isarog Broadcasting to entertain residents of Barangay San Juan here after their village was lockdown for 10 days after a resident who is a Barangay Health Worker tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on May 30 this year.

The online gig was aimed to ease the psychological effects and negative feelings felt by residents after their village was put on total lockdown as a result of the Covid-19 case known as Patient No. 74, one of the organizers of he concert said.

San Juan village chief Erna Clores thanked the musicians for showing concerns over the plight of her constituents through their musical renditions.

Your songs gave us emotional relief and boosted our morale so that we can move on after the lockdown, Clores said.

In an interview with school principal Dean Delmo Correo of Lagonoy, a member of the Camarines Sur Teachers Choir and one of the musicians who participated in the concert, he said that he volunteered to perform in the event, because it was his simple way to reach out to others who are in dire need of consolation due to stress and anxiety amidst Covid-19.

The event was supported by the local government of San Jose led by Mayor Mac Chavez and by the Philippine National Police (PNP) San Jose chief Margarito Manaog. A police officer, Staff Sergeant Noe Paterno, who is a member of the PNP Camarines Sur Band also sang during the concert.

The live stream concert was hosted by Engr. Rollie Fernandez and filmed by Jes Ortinero, both of Isarog Internet Radio.
