Archbishop Cancels Clergy Activities

July 8, 2020- Several activities of the priests of Caceres were officially canceled by the Archbishop through his letter to the clergy.

My brother priests,

In view of the worsening rise of Covid positive cases in Naga city and surrounding towns, and upon the recommendations from our Chancellor and affirmed by Fr. Cel Reyes, SJ, the host of our clergy assembly in Ateneo de Naga University, I deem it necessary to CANCEL our Clergy Assembly scheduled this July 28, 2020.

1. We take it upon ourselves the responsibility to be agents and servants of health safety among our presbyterium and our respective communities.

2. For my 74th Birthday this coming July 22, 2020, I would like to request you my brother priests to offer a Holy Mass for my intentions at your parish churches or in our seminaries. There will be NO clergy celebration at our Cathedral and NO usual birthday reception.

3. We have already issued the Archdiocese and Naga City joint guidelines on this year’s celebration of our Lady of Penafrancia. Please be guided accordingly.

4. Let us continue strengthening our communities with our liturgical celebrations constanly observing the safety protocols.
