Army troopers find 761 dynamite tubes
PILI, Camarines Sur --- A large quantity of explosives composed of 761 dynamite tubes, 400 meters of detonating cords and several materials believed used by New People’s Army (NPA) rebels for their propaganda dissemination were discovered by the combined forces from the 96th Infantry Battalion (96IB) and Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office in Labo, Camarines Norte recently.
The government forces were able to find out the location of the stockpile of explosives and propaganda materials through a tip-off from concerned residents in the area.
MGen. Henry A. Robinson, commander of the 9th Infantry Division (9ID) and Joint Task Force Bicolandia (JTFB) chief, thanked the concerned citizens who provided the information about the location of the explosives.
He also lauded the government troops for their immediate action that led to the subsequent seizure of the dynamites and propaganda materials.
A similar incident also took place in Sorsogon on June 27 when high-caliber firearms were also recovered by government troops.
In a press statement, Capt. John Paul Belleza, 9ID spokesperson, said “JTFB assures the Bicolanos that its campaign against the NPAs will never stop until such time that these terrorist group become irrelevant and will cease to exist. MGen Robinson also reminded peace-loving Bicolanos to press on with the fight in the furtherance of peace and development in the region.”
“Wala pong imposible basta magtutulungan tayo. Let us fight insurgency together and help those victims of NPA atrocities in the dispensation of justice.
