CAMALIGAN, Camarines Sur---The long awaited reopening of the popular Camaligan River Cruise will no longer pushed through after the local government here decided to cancel it due to the rising cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Naga City and Camarines Sur province.

To recall, the Camaligan Municipal Tourism Office has already completed requirements to reopen the floating cottage this July, but the town’s Incident Managemen Team (IMT) recommended to cancel its reopening as a precautionary measure against Covid-19.

Lawyer Lea V. Cea, Camaligan’s tourism officer, told Bicol Mail that IMT’s recommendation is meritorious as it will lessen the possible spread of the virus in the town as most of the customers of the river cruise are from Naga City.

She said that the river cruise will remain closed until further notice.
