Naga sets new curfew hours
NAGA CITY --- The Sangguniang Panlungsod here has amended the “curfew hours” provision of City Ordinance 2020-046 by enacting Ordinance No. 2020-066 on July 21, 2020, which set the new curfew hour from 12:00 midnight until 4:00 AM instead of the fprevious 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
Section 10 of the measure stated that “as a further measure to promote public health, safety and protection against the continuing threat of Covid-19 or any such emerging infectious disease, curfew hours from 12:00 midnight to 4:00 in the morning is hereby imposed upon all persons within the territorial jurisdiction of the city of Naga.”
The amendment of Ordinance No. 2020-046 was requested by the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) to conform with the latest issuance of the Department of Trade and Industry, which “allow restaurant, fast foods, and other dine-in establishments to operate until 11 o’clock in the evening.”
The new curfew schedule took cognizance of Department of Trade and Industry Memorandum Circular No. 20-39, which aim to increase the operating capacity of food establishments by allowing them to operate until 11:00 PM. The circular ordered local government units (LGUs) to adjust their respective curfew hours starting 12:00 midnight.
