Back to New Normal

By Presidential edict, the entire Greater Metro Manila area was declared under General Community Quarantine while the rest of the country was placed under Modefied Community Quarantine. The action of the President was geared towards placing the economy of the country under stable conditions to give our countrymen employment opportunities and the business community back to a robust condition. The public however is urged to observe the social distancing protocol, the wearing of face masks and the use of face shields whenever outside their residences. In public transports however, the use of face shields is mandatory. Obviously, the purpose is to prevent/minimize the spread of Covid-19 virus which has persistently remained as a health hazard world wide. With these orders of President DU3, life for us is practically back to normal or as presidential spokesperson Harry Roque calls it “new normal.” Mass gathering however is still prohibited and it may take sometime before it is lifted. Some observers say it may extend up to December this year. Be that as it may, let’s hope that everything settles down sooner than later. Afterall, as they say, “hope springs eternal,”

The placing of border control in Del Gallego, Camarines Sur and the boundary between Albay Province and this province in Agos, Bato to check the entry of Covid-19 infected travellers in the province is a commendable move. Some of our irresponsible OFWS and returning Camarines Sur residents who stayed in Metro Manila and suburbs during the Pandemic who ought to be Quarantined first before returning home are endangering the lives of their neighbors and the community the live-in.
