COVID-19: Naga lists 18 new cases

NAGA CITY --- The Health Emergency Response Task Force here has recorded on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 18 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

At 1:15 in the morning of August 26, this year, the Health Emergency Response Task Force here registered 18 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The report which was received by the task force early Wednesday morning from the Department of Health (DOH) Bicol regional office included six recoveries.

The real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests were processed by the Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) in Legazpi City and the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Of the 18 new Covid-19 positive patients, two gave their consent to be named in the official statement issued by the task force.

Bicol #1046 is Alfredo Ubaña Sr., a 57-year-old broadcast executive and Bicol #1053 is Delfin Aguilar, a 53-year-old staff at the City Mayor’s Office.

Three more City Hall personnel were among the 18 who were tested positive. They are: Bicol #1043, a 46-year-old male employee at Bicol Science and Technology Centrum (BSTC); Bicol #1059, a 53-year-old electrician at Market Enterprise and Promotions Office; and Bicol #1058, a 54-year-old female employee at the City Planning and Nutrition Office (CPNO).

Mayor Nelson Legacion immediately ordered the lockdown of their offices “from today August 26 until further notice.” He also instructed the co-workers of those who were tested positive for Covid-19 to self-quaranine as a precautionary measure.

The other who tested positive was: Bicol #1045, who is a symptomatic 50-year-old physician living in San Leandro Street, Monterey Village, Concepcion Pequeña, here.
