Drug pusher slain in police shootout

IRIGA CITY --- An alleged drug pusher died in a shootout with policemen while another was collared in separate drug stings in Camarines Sur on Saturday, Aug. 22, a police report said.

Killed was Glen Egliston Jr., a high value target (HVT) drug pusher of Barangay San Francisco, Iriga City.

He was killed while allegedly selling suspected shabu. When he sensed that it was a police set-up, he engaged the policemen in a shoot-out in Barangay Del Rosario Banao at around 5:10 PM, according to Police Lt. Col Al Monge, Iriga City police chief.

Allan Dimabayao of Barangay San Juan, the victim’s companion was able to elude arrest.

Monge, in an interview, said police recovered 849 grams of shabu from the crime scene.

In Minalabac town, Ricky Vasquez, 44, of Barangay Hamoraon was caught selling shabu during a drug sting in the same village at around 5:00 PM, Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Police Regional Office 5 spokesperson, said.

The suspect yielded four sachets of shabu and P500 marked money.
