4.5 kilometer transmission line installed from Carangcang to Sto. Tomas, Magarao
True to its mission to provide fast and technologically suitable water services, the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) completed the ₱24M-project for the Installation of Transmission Line connecting Carangcang I pumping station to Sto. Tomas Magarao, Camarines Sur on February 10, 2020.
The 4.493 kilometer transmission line project was completed with a total cost of ₱24,567,773.59. It was one of the major projects designed by MNWD to balance and augment the water supply system in Magarao-Canaman within MNWD’s service coverage area. Likewise, said project is a boost to the needed supply in some parts of the end point of Magarao-Canaman as this directly connects to groundwater sources at Carangcang I and Sta. Lucia I pumping stations and in preparation to the operationalization of Sta. Lucia II and Carangcang II pumping stations.
With this new installation of pipelines, residents are assured of long-term, safe, and potable water which is a much-need resource especially, during this crucial time. This waterline project which involved the installation of pipework and more efficient pressure balancing mechanisms will not only bring water quality improvements but also, ensure resilient water supplies moving forward.
The installation of transmission line plays an important part in the MNWD water supply network. It is an integral component in the Water Source Development Program of the district that will respond to the present water demand as well as provide a reliable source for future generation.
This is just one of the major projects that MNWD expects to complete this 2020. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, MNWD is looking forward to get the projects done as scheduled following the necessary health and safety measures. (APVSGonzales)
