Police nab 2 rapists

NAGA CITY --- Two persons charged with the crimes of rape minors in the towns of Tinambac and Balatan, Camarines Sur were arrested by police authorities, a police report said.

On Wednesday (Oct. 7) afternoon, the police operatives of the Tinambac Municipal Police Station arrested Melchor Deliva, 35, a farmer and resident of Barangay Salvacion (Poblacio), Tinambac, Camarines Sur, after four years of hiding. He is tagged as the No.1 municipal wanted person.

Maj. Gary Mangente, Tinambac police chief, said that the suspect, who was apprehended at Barangay Magsaysay here, will be subjected for Covid-19 rapid test before his transfer to the district jail.

The police said Deliva’s victim is his step daughter.

Judge Pedro Redoña of the Regional Trial Court in Calabanga town issued the warrant of arrest against Deliva on Aug. 16, 2016. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

In the afternoon of Monday, Oct. 11, the Balatan police arrested Reynan Cabarogias, 19, jobless, of Barangay Tapayas, Balatan, Camarines Sur.

Cpl. Joseph Melitante said the suspect was arrested in Barangay Angustia in Nabua for raping a five years old girl.

Judge Martessa Nuyla- Rodregueza of the Regional Trial Court Branch 37 in Iriga City issued the arrest warrant for the suspect on Sept. 17, this year with a recommended bail of P200,000.
