On The U.S Presidential Elections
The landslide victory of Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris both in popular vote and in the US electoral college is an affirmation of the US voters’ wish to finally address the COVID-19 issue. It is likewise a very clear indication that the voters got tired of defeated candidate’s Donald Trump’s lies, half-truths, and theatrics. Coming along on the same vein, for the first time in American history a woman will be seated in the White House as Vice-President, a testament to women’s equal ability with men to govern. It continues a trend that has been established of late about women rising to the challenge of leadership and surpassing even our best expectations. Congratulations to the Americans for exercising their right of suffrage with honor and discernment.
We, the Bicolanos, still reeling from the effects of Covid-19 pandemic, which is far from over, are facing the difficult task of recovering from the extensive destruction wrought by typhoon Rolly followed by typhoon Ulysses. As some would say it-what a double whammy! But as always, the ability of every Bicolano to bounce back from adversity is not only legendary but also phenomenal-what with our strong and unfailing devotion to the power of our Ina’s mantle of protection.
