THE University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) is among the country’s institutions now on watch for the release of the 2025 Bar Examination results, expected in early January 2026 as announced by the Supreme Court.
The examinations opened on September 7, 2025, drawing a record-breaking 11,437 candidates nationwide — the highest number of examinees ever recorded on the first day. In Naga City, about 600 barristers from various law schools in the region converged at the UNC campus to take part in the rigorous series of tests that will determine who will enter the country’s legal profession next year.
The Bar Examinations, regarded as the most demanding licensure test in the Philippines, are traditionally a defining milestone for law graduates. For many schools, the results serve as a benchmark of academic performance and training, while for individual examinees, they mark the culmination of years of study, preparation, and personal sacrifice.
Once results are released, those who successfully pass will proceed to the oath-taking and signing of the Roll of Attorneys in February 2026, formally joining the roster of licensed lawyers. The occasion traditionally draws families, mentors, and the legal community in celebration of the new batch of bar passers.
At UNC, the successful conduct of the examinations highlighted Naga City’s role as a major testing site in Bicol. The participation of candidates from across the region underscores the city’s growing importance as a hub of legal education outside Metro Manila.
As January approaches, law schools and communities across the region remain hopeful for strong results that will add to the growing presence of new lawyers from Bicol in the country’s legal landscape.
