4 suspects arrested over P1.8-M shabu

LEGAZPI CITY --- Four suspects were arrested and P1.8 million worth of shabu were seized in separate anti-drug operations in the Bicol Region, the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) said on Thursday.
Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, said the 275 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP1.8 million were recovered during overnight operations on Wednesday in different parts of the region.
“The buy-bust operation on Wednesday in Naga City arrested Bong Blanquera, 45, of Block 1, Lot 4, Minerva St., Villa Corazon, Del Rosario, Naga City, and Jumel Frederick Camalla, 34, a native of Macaroy Compound, Lomeda, San Felipe. Both are listed on the database on illegal drugs. Seized from them were 75 grams of shabu with a street value of P510,000. The two drug pushers were arrested by a joint operation of the city intelligence unit, police station 4, and city mobile force company around 6:05 p.m. at Zone 1, barangay Carolina,” Calubaquib said in an interview.
In Masbate province, she said police seized 50 grams of shabu from arrested suspect Marvin C. Acuña 33, of Barangay Canomay, Dimasalang town while authorities are pursuing Ronie Banda, another suspect who eluded arrest.
In Camarines Norte, the intensified efforts of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Camarines Norte, Provincial Intelligence Unit -Camarines Norte Provincial Police Office, and Daet Municipal Police Station yielded more or less 150 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.020 million.
“The drug items were taken from the possession and control of Catherine Quibral alias ‘KAT’, 30, of Barangay Pamorangon, Daet, Camarines Norte. She is also tagged as a high-value individual (HVI),” Calubaquib said.
All accosted drug personalities are under the custody of the arresting unit. Cases for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 are also being prepared against the suspects. (PNA)
