Police operatives rounded up on Tuesday (Dec. 14) morning six members of a family tagged as notorious illegal drug pushers in an anti-narcotics operation in Pasacao town in Camarines Sur.

A police team after serving a search warrant issued by a local court arrested Jilly Raynera, 74, his wife Salud, 73, and their sons Noe, 48, Valentin, 45, Nelson, and Angel Jr., according to Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson for the Bicol police.

She said except for Valentin Raynera, who is tagged by the police as a high-value target (HVT), all members of the family are street-level pushers.

The search conducted at around 5:56 AM recovered nine sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth) at the suspect’s residence in Zone 4, Barangay Sta Rosa Del Sur of the same town. The suspects did not resist arrest during the raid.

The suspects were detained at the town police precinct while charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 are being readied against them.

A day earlier, Dec. 13, an alleged illegal drug suspect was killed at dawn in a shootout with police personnel in a drug sting in Talisay, Camarines Norte.

Calubaquib identified the slain suspect as Christian Serrado, 40, of Barangay Larap, Jose Panganiban town.

Police recovered from the suspect two large sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth) weighing 50 grams worth P340,000 and a .45 caliber pistol.

The report said the suspect was caught selling shabu at around 1:30 AM in Barangay Gabon, Talisay town. Sensing that the drug transaction was a set up, he drew his .45 cal. pistol and fired at the undercover agent prompting the police operatives to retaliate killing him on the spot.
