72-year-old murder suspect nabbed in Caramoan coastal barangay

CARAMOAN, Camarines Sur --- A 72-year-old man wanted for murder was arrested in Barangay Hanopol, Caramoan, Camarines Sur at around 5:30 p.m. on July 28, 2025, following a joint manhunt operation by law enforcement and military personnel.

The suspect, known by the alias “Mando,” married and a resident of Caramoan, was apprehended by a composite team from the Camarines Sur 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company led by Police Lt. Dennis C. Abaño, with support from the Caramoan Municipal Police Station tracker team and soldiers from the 83rd Infantry Battalion, 9th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army.


The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by Branch 58 of the Regional Trial Court in San Jose, Camarines Sur (Fifth Judicial Region), under Criminal Case No. T-3453, dated November 24, 2010, for the crime of Murder. The court recommended no bail for the accused.


Police said the suspect was informed of his constitutional rights upon arrest and is currently in the custody of the local police for proper disposition.


This successful operation is part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified efforts to track down fugitives and uphold public safety, as directed by PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil. In Camarines Sur, the directive is being implemented and closely supervised by Provincial Director PCol. Virgilio O. Olalia Jr.
