78 wanted persons nabbed, nearly P4-M shabu seized in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY --- Police arrested at least 78 wanted persons and seized from them nearly PHP4 million worth of shabu in various police operations in the Bicol Region.

PRO-5 acting Regional Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda said the recorded arrest was from Dec. 5 to 16.

During the period, illegal drugs valued at PHP3.9 million were confiscated, which included 9.20 grams of marijuana and 579.48 grams of shabu.

The arrests of wanted persons comprised seven individuals at the provincial level, two at the city level, 12 at the municipal level, and 57 others captured through intensive intelligence-driven operations and surveillance as part of the Enhanced Managing Police Operations initiative.

The largest quantity of confiscated drugs was recorded in Camarines Sur, totaling PHP1.38 million, followed by Naga City with PHP1.18 million, Albay with PHP956,080, Masbate with PHP238,000, Camarines Norte with PHP140,420, Sorsogon with PHP35,864, and Catanduanes with PHP4,680.

The most recent arrest on Monday involved a high-value individual known as alias Juls, a 29-year-old resident of Naga City.

Arrested from the suspect was 150 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP1.02 million, along with buy-bust money and other related evidence. (PNA)
