Albay flaunts 20 ladies for ‘Magayon’ tilt

LEGAZPI CITY---The Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) through the Provincial Tourism, Culture, and Arts Office (PTCAO) organized the screening of 46 Daragang Magayon 2023 candidate- applicants at the LCC Event Center, Legazpi City Albay on April 15, Saturday.
Out of 46 Bicolana aspirants, 20 were selected as official candidates. They were presented on the same day at 5PM at Ayala Malls, Legazpi.
On May 19, the competition for Daragang Magayon 2023 will commence at Albay Astrodome.
Albay Gov. Edcel Greco Lagman expressed his gratitude to the judges in the said event.
‘’Thanks to our board of judges who had the unenviable task of coming up with 20 lovely Bicolanas who will compete for the crown,’’ Lagman said.
Under the theme “empowering women,” candidates showcased their beauty, elegance, talent, and wit.

‘’(We are) empowering women by giving them a stage for their advocacies,’’ Lagman highlighted.
‘’This regional beauty pageant will always be important and relevant in the hearts and minds of young, intelligent and progressive-minded Bicolanos,’’ he added.
The Daragang Magayon grand winner will receive P30,000, Miss Albay Tourism - P200,000, 1st Placer - P150,000, 2nd Placer - P100,000 and third placer - P75, 000.
The official 20 candidates were; Aviona Erzebeth Dass, Aliya Clemeña Rahman Khan Rohilla, Cherry Love Caubang Jebulan, Imari Lene Balgemino, Jessabel Zuiniega Cending, Rani Lachmi Menghamal Dado, Julianne Ceneta Dizon, Margarette Briton, Mikki Angela B. Barcela, Thiara Marie San Pablo, and Jaya Fortuno Jarabejo.
Hannah Gwenyth Barcela Colasito, Rhianne Macy N. Zapata, Trixia Jorgia Palo Aganan, Yzandra Feline Elep Gorobat, Lienel Navidad, Monica Julia ongon, Precious Joezhel T. Mortel, Ibiza Shekinah Pacheco Toledo, and Jannel Mendee Nebria Calleja also passed the standard of judges.
The search is part of the month-long celebration of Magayon Festival in Albay this May. (PIA5/Albay)
