Caceres Archbishop Rolando J. Tria Tirona requested prayers for the clergy of Caceres who will have their annual retreat on November 28 to December 2 in Tagaytay City.

Caceres Archbishop Roly Tria Tirona, OCD, bows his head in fervent prayer at the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral in this file photo by CCCom. He appealed for prayers as the Caceres clergy annual retreat on November 28 to December 2 in Tagaytay.

In a letter addressed to the consecrated communities in Caceres and the lay faithful, Tirona said:

“May I appeal to you my esteemed Consecrated Communities and to you dear Faithful to pray for your priests, our Caceres Clergy. May they all benefit spiritually from this year’s Clergy retreat, and refresh themselves with zeal and joy in their priestly ministry. Please include also in your prayers the Retreat Director, Fr. Antonio M. Pernia, SVD.”

Fr. Pernia, SVD is the Dean of Studies of the Divine Word Institute of Mission Studies in Tagaytay City. He is a religious missionary of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD). He served as SVD Superior General in Rome, Italy (2000-2012).

The Caceres priests will be mentored by Fr. Pernia on the theme Synodality and Mission in Priestly Ministry.

“The annual retreat is a very important in the life and ministry of our priests. It is a grace-filled occasion for profound prayer, reflection and fraternal priestly bonding,” Archbishop Tirona explains.” The retreat is also a blessed moment for the priests to renew and commit themselves to Jesus Christ, the High Priest.”

Archbishop Tirona’s letter requesting for prayers was sent to consecrated communities on November 23.
