By Myrna Bermudo

Renewing faith, hope and love will be the theme for the reflection and prayer online and on air by DWRV Radio Caritas Mariae 98.3 FM. It will be aired live from March 29 to March 31, Holy Monday to Holy Wednesday, at 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning, Caceres Archbishop Rolando J.Tria Tirona, O.C.D.,D.D., on March 31 Holy Wednesday, will give his message on “Lent, a time for renewing our faith, hope and love.”

Pope Francis’ message for Lent 2021 carries the theme ‘Renewing Faith, Hope and Love’. The online and on-air recollection will echo this theme.

“Accepting and bearing witness to the truth” will be the theme on March 29, Holy Monday, with Fr. Balthazar Antonio ‘Toots’ Imperial. Fr. Imperial is the chairperson of the ongoing formation for the Caceres clergy. He is also a spiritual director at the Holy Rosary Major Seminary in Concepcion Pequeña, Naga City.

On Holy Tuesday, March 30, Fr. Marcos ‘Mark’ L. Quesada will lead the reflection on “The ‘living water’ that helps us on the journey.” Fr. Quesada is the administrator of St. Padre Pio Mission Station at Dalipay, Milaor, Camarines Sur.

The administration and management of the radio station is committed to assist radio listeners and social media followers in their Lenten journey using the airwaves and modern technology.

The Vatican Congregation on Liturgy has highlighted on how the use of social media has greatly assisted the local Churches “in offering support and closeness to their communities during the pandemic”. It suggests that this media outreach continue. It also encourages the faithful who are unable to attend liturgical celebrations, retreats and recollections to follow diocesan celebrations in social media as a sign of unity.

After a year, the nation still faces enormous challenges brought about by the pandemic. Lenten messages, reflection and prayer guides are being shared by priests and bishops.

“The search for places where we can bring the Good News knows no end. New conditions and situations invite us for our new insights and responses,” says Archbishop Tirona in his pastoral letter for the launching of the year of Missio Ad Gentes and St. Joseph.

Archbishop Tirona also emphasized that as the Church celebrates the 500th year of Christianity, the faithful must renew their commitment to share our faith. He added: The first step, however, in taking up the challenge of bringing the Good News is “to renew once again our understanding of the faith.”
