Archdiocesan Shrine to Hold the Closing Celebrations of the Year of Saint Joseph

The Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Joseph under the watch of its new Rector, Rev. Fr. Luisito Occiano spearheads various cultural, sports and academic events aside from the required religious solemnities in connection with celebration of the closing of the Year of Saint Joseph within October 15- December 8, 2021.


Fr. Occiano has confirmed the news after his proposed programs and activities was officially approved by Most Rev. Rolando J. Tirona, the Archbishop of Caceres, last October 6, 2021.

As proposed , its rationale are to highlight the historical event of the Year of Saint Joseph and to promote the devotion to Saint Joseph as the universal father and guardian.


Further, the rector-proponent wishes to tap every devotees and catholic congregation from all sectors and of all ages to the celebration, thus, the major activities are, a.) Virtual Summit of the Cofradia de San Jose and other male organizations; b.) Virtual Run and Bike for St. Joseph; c.) Virtual Choral Competition; d.) Poster Making and Essay Writing for Students; e.) Padyak para sa Ama; and, d.) a Culminating Mass.


Generally, these activities or contests is a diocesan-wide in scope, thus other parishes within the entire Archdiocese of Caceres can participate. Detailed mechanics and guideline of the different events will be immediately promoted through a tri-media platform, and will be posted to the official page of the diocese and the shrine.


However, for purposes disposing the celebration successfully and meaningful, the safety of participants is still the significant concern of the proponent, hence, the usual health protocols will be strictly complied with while and during the whole duration of the occasion.
