Archdiocesan Social Media Ministry holds training for volunteers

Caceres Commission on Communications (CCCom) held a seminar for volunteers from eighteen parishes of the Archdiocese of Caceres and Diocese of Daet.


The gathering was in celebration of the 56th World Communications Day (WCD) on Ascension Sunday. The activity was dubbed “Media Apostolate in the New Normal.” The participants were members of the Parish Social Communications Teams. Most of them are young people.

Archbishop Rolando J. Tria Tirona, OCD, DD, gave an inspirational message on the WCD theme “Listen with the Ear of the Heart,” by Pope Francis. He thanked the young volunteers for their energy, enthusiasm, talent and participating in the work of evangelization.


“I encourage you to be Christ-centered and bring hope as social media practitioners. Let us all fight dis-information. Let us spread Jesus’ message of love and truth,” Archbishop Tirona said.


The topics were: Media Ministry in the Archdiocese of Caceres - an Overview (Fr. Louie Occiano); Liturgical Training Guide on Live Streaming (Sr. Judy Zamar, fsp); Proper Camera Shots / Angles to Communicate the Sacred Mystery of the Eucharist (Myrna Bermudo);

Basic Live Streaming Guide and Techniques (Dadoy Bien); Adobe Photoshop and Social Media (JC Madrid);


Basic and Advance Photography Tips & Techniques (Jess Moreno) and Basic News Writing (Julma Narvadez).


A total of 85 participants joined the seminar. They are members of the live streaming team of their respective parishes. It was held at the Edessa Hall of the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish St Jude Thaddeus, Naga City.


The seminar was concluded with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Louie Occiano, CCCom Director.
