Archdiocese Celebrates Feast of the Holy Rosary

Several weeks after the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Penafrancia, the local church is again celebrating the month long devotion of the Holy Rosary this October.

The Rosary means “Crown of Roses”. Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one.

The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary in fact we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow, of glory and of light of Jesus and Mary. It’s a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary.

It’s a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary we invite Her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours.

Caceres has been known to be a marian archdiocese. Not only with the Our Lady of Penafrancia but also with its seminaries named after Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

The Seminario Conciliar de Nueva Caceres founded in 1788 that was named Holy Rosary Minor Seminary. In 1964, the Holy Rosary Major Seminary was also established for the Philosophy and Theology seminarians. Then in 1990, the Holy Rosary Preparatory Seminary in San Jose CS was also established to house those who graduated High School outside the seminary.

These seminaries inspite of the pandemic, celebrated their feast mostly virtually.

The Archdiocese has also a parish with Holy Rosary as patroness. The parish in Bombon CS.

Indeed the Archdiocese of Caceres is indeed Pueblo Amante de Maria. We continue to pray the rosary because with her intercession we continue to feel protected from all evil. -Cccom news
