It would seem that the out-going administration of President DU3 will not go along with suggestions from some quarters that its leadership raise the level alert to level 2 to prevent the spread of the corona viruz. This decision was hailed by the business community which opened up once again the business activity thus propping the economy and once again generating employment opportunities. Consequently, malling activities became vibrant as the authorities ordered the lifting of the mandatory use of face masks. The Department of Health however, thru Secretary Vergerie has cautioned the general public on the total non-use of face mask contending that Covic2 is ever present and advised the continuous use of face mask. Thus, it can be observed that while others are no longer in face masks, others, however, continue the use. Personally, my spouse Minda and this writer are always in face masks when in public.

Creating business districts in different barangays in the City of Naga as conceptualised by the Legacion administration is a welcome move. This will generate business activities in the barangays at the same time decongesting the downtown CBD which for years was the only business district since the founding of the city years back. Naga’s growth in commerce and industry and other business endeavours is phenomenal thus deserving the title of “The Heart of Bicol.”

Now that the fervor of the last national and local polls are over, the victors are set to take their respective oath of offices this coming July. The electorate and the general public are looking forward to the fulfilment of the electoral commitments and promises of all the elected officials. Their constituencies and the people in general deserve no less.
