LEGAZPI CITY --- The number of law enforcement officers in terminals, seaports, churches, beaches, malls, and all areas of convergence in the Bicol region will be increased to ensure the safety and enjoyable experience of visitors and returning residents during the Holy Week and summer vacation season.
Department of Tourism Regional Director Herbie Aguas estimates there will be approximately 1.7 million arrivals this Holy Week.

“Minsan lang umuwi ang mga kababayan natin sa Bicol (Our countrymen only come home to Bicol once), we want to make it memorable. Also during summer vacation, our people come to beaches and other tourist areas, let us make sure that our visitors will bring good memories with them when they go back to their respective places,” Claudio Yucot, regional director of the Office of Civil Defense, said during the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council meeting held Monday, April 7.
The meeting aimed to ensure that all member agencies were mobilized for a coordinated response to any potential situation.
Approximately 4,000 personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) will be deployed along major thoroughfares, highways, construction sites, as well as at airports and seaports. Their presence is intended to ensure smooth traffic flow and assist motorists as they travel to their destinations.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will establish Lakbay Alalay Motorists Assistance Team Stations at various strategic locations in Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon.
Additionally, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will implement “Oplan Byaheng Ayos: Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2025,” focusing on apprehending vehicles operating without the necessary permits (colorum).
