Bishops gather for plenary assembly

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines’ 126th plenary assembly and retreat commenced on July 3 and will continue until July 10, 2023 in Marzon Hotel, Kalibo, Aklan. To kick off the event, a solemn opening mass was officiated by Most Rev. Jose Corazon T. Tala-oc, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Kalibo.


The meeting will elect CBCP officers for the term December 2023 to November 2025 and will discuss topics affecting the faithful in the country. As of 2022, the Philippines has 16 archdioceses, 51 dioceses, 7 apostolic vicariates, 5 territorial prelatures and a military ordinariate. (Diocese of Kalibo FB page)
