Bordado to push passage of People Empowerment bill

Reelected Representative Gabriel Bordado Jr., of the 3rd District of Camarines Sur will push for the passage and enactment of the Peoples Empowerment bill otherwise known as “An Act creating a system of partnership between Local Governments and Civil Society organizations ” as one of his legacies as a lawmaker.
The bill seeks give citizens the opportunity to participate and have a stand in policy and decision making of the Local Government Units (LGUs).
In an interview via Radyo Natin 89.5 on June 12, 2022, Bordado said that he wants the People Empowerment bill to become a law and it will be one of his priority bill considering that it will be his last term as a representative.
According to him, he was disappointed that the bill, which was already passed by the present Congress last Sept. 21, 2021 was not acted by the Senate.
The solon said that the bill aims to adopt the People’s Council program of Naga City and replicating it nationwide.
Bordado added that he will continue to be a member of the House minority in the next Congress.
