TWO brothers were arrested in a pre-dawn drug raid conducted by authorities in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, resulting in the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at approximately Php136,000.

At around 5:55 AM on September 1, 2025, operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Iriga City Police Station, led by PLTCOL Jeric Don P. Sadia, Officer-in-Charge, served Search Warrant No. IR-2025-36 at a rented residence in Zone 6, Barangay San Francisco, Iriga City.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - Regional Office V (PDEA ROV), and witnessed by a media representative and two barangay officials, as mandated by law. The entire operation was recorded using two issued body-worn cameras.

The suspects, identified only by their aliases “Nhoy,” 25, and “Tikboy,” 28, both single and residents of the same barangay, were arrested after authorities discovered a total of nine (9) heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

Two sachets were found in the pocket of “Nhoy” during a body search. Further search of their residence yielded six more sachets hidden inside an eyeglass case in one of the rooms, and another sachet placed in a rubber bowl in their bedroom. The total weight of the confiscated substance is estimated at 20 grams, with a street value of around P136,000.

Markings and inventory of the seized evidence were immediately conducted at the scene and properly documented in the presence of the required insulating witnesses.

The suspects were informed of their constitutional rights in the vernacular and are now in the custody of the Iriga City Police Station for proper disposition. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.
