LEGAZPI City --- Two fresh graduates from the Bicol University (BU) notched the 4th and 10th place in the recently concluded 2022 Geodetic Engineer Licensure Examination.
Shyla B. Arciga ranked 4th with 90.40% rating while John Raymund Buenconsejo, ranked 10th with 88.40% rating. Both are from Tabaco City, Albay.
The BU has reported 66 newly-licensed geodetic engineers, with 73.3% over-all passing rate as compared to the 52.7% national passing rate or 602 passers out of 1,142 examinees.
Arciga and Buenconsejo both shared the struggles they encountered before the examination.
“Due to the unstable internet connection in our place, I cannot attend the review lessons whenever the weather is not in good condition” Arciga said.
Buenconsejo also faced challenges as a fresh graduate.
“Since we are fresh graduates, it is difficult to obtain the requirements needed for the board examination,” she said.
However, their hardships paid off as they strengthened their solidarity as block mates. The assistance of their seniors and review lessons were also of big help.
Arciga also urged future examinees to, ’’study well and learn to prioritize the areas that they think they are weak to further improve and pass the examination. I think that’s one of the factors that I used before and during the exam.’’
Both topnotchers recommended future examinees to ask for assistance from the previous board passers. (PIA5/Albay/CLM)
