Caceres joins World Communications Day with a Webinar

The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, which will be celebrated on Sunday, 16 May 2021, is also the 55th World Communications Day.

Established by St. Paul VI in 1967 in the wake of the Second Vatican Council, it is an annual celebration that calls us to reflect on the opportunities and challenges that the media can afford the church to communicate the Gospel. According to the Saint, it aims “to draw the attention of her children and of all men of good will to the vast and complex phenomenon of the modem means of social communication, such as the press, motion pictures, radio and television, which form one of the most characteristic notes of modern civilization.” (Message for the First World Communications Day)

In celebration of this, the Caceres Commission on Communications (CCCom) invites us to a Webinar on the topic, “Missio ad Gentes: Communicating by Encountering People.” Joining us to discuss and share on this topic is Rev. Fr. Emmanuel “Nono” L. Alfonso, Jr., SJ, a Nagueño who is now the Executive Director of Jesuit Communications.

The said online event will be held on Saturday, 15 May 2021, at 07:30pm. You may join us LIVE through the Archdiocesan Facebook Page and YouTube Channel, and through our various Mass Media partners and their respective platforms.
