By Myrna Bermudo

The Office for Mission and Evangelization, in its effort to orient the missionary priests to be sent to mission countries, conducted Alis Bayan Program on June 15 at the Archbishop’s Residence.

Fr. Gerome Pelagio, the Mission Director, gave an orientation on the program and instructed the new missionaries on the basic concepts of intercultural communications. The Memorandum of Agreement between the Archdiocese of Caceres and the host diocese was presented and discussed with them.

As the Philippine Church celebrates 500 years of Christianity, five (5) missionary priests from the Archdiocese of Caceres will be sent on mission. These are their names and their mission destination.

Fr. Ramel Pajenago and Fr. Fermin Valiente Jr, missionary priests to the Archdiocese of Castries, St.Lucia; Fr. Rommel Dacoco and Fr. Albert Balderas, missionary priests to the Diocese of Green Bay Wisconsin, USA.

Fr. Abenson Martinez (former missionary at the Archdiocese of Castries) and Fr. Felix Martin Penetrante (former missionary at the Diocese of Green Bay) shared the richness of their experiences and gave nuggets of missionary wisdom to ignite more the enthusiasm of the new missionaries.

Caceres Archbishop Rolando J. Tirona, OCD, DD, imparted his blessing after giving his fatherly message to encourage them.
