Caceres Social Action Ministry celebrate 50 years

The Social Action Ministry of the Archdiocese of Caceres celebrated its golden jubilee on June 23, 2023 at the Basilica Hall, Penafrancia Basilica, Naga City. The celebration was marked with a concelebrated Thanksgiving Liturgy with Archbishop Rolando J, Tria Tirona, OCD, DD as the main celebrant and Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, DD as co-celebrant, together with the other members of the Caceres Clergy.

The theme of the celebration is “Synodal Church through Social Action in 50 Years and Beyond”. Bp. Bagaforo, current president of Caritas Philippines and chairperson of ECSA JP and Bishop of Kidapawan, was keynote speaker. Highlights of the event included the recognition of partners, service awardees of Caritas-Caceres Naga who served the institution for 15 years and above.

Four parishes were recognized for their significant contribution in the field of the Social Action Ministry: Pope Francis Award was given to St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Caramoan, for its contribution to works of justice and peace; Good Samaritan Award (Holy Cross Parish, Tabuco) for its contribution to works of mercy; Bp. Gainza Award (St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Pili) for works of development; and the Caritas Award (St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, Concepcion Grande) for having the most number of social action projects implemented.
