Cam Norte builds P350M Coliseum for MICES

DAET, Camarines Norte --- A building worth P350 million is being constructed in Camarines Norte to host various events that will help boost the province's economic progress.

Rep. Raul Angelo Bongalon of Ako Bikol, which sponsored the project in Congress, emphasized that the building will cater to the needs of the event industry, specifically the popular MICES (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions, and Sports) events.

To be named after the native hero Wenceslao Q. Vinzons, the facility will cover 7,748 square meters and will be able to accommodate 3,008 persons, according to Virgilio Eduarte, regional director of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

The biggest part of the building will be devoted to sporting events, Eduarte said.

Governor Ricarte Padilla mentioned that with the coliseum's construction, the Camarines Norte province will be able to host sporting events that its people love.

“Sa katuparan ng coliseum, yung pangarap nating dalhin dito ang laro Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) at ibang events ay hindi na pangarap malapit ng magkaroon ng katuparan” he said.

The realization of the coliseum has brought the dream of bringing the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) sport and other events to the province closer to reality. (PIA5/Camarines Norte)
