"I want to welcome the entire delegates of the Yamaguchi Prefectural Assembly to our home, the beautiful land of Camarines Sur. May the following days foster great relations and deepen the strength in our relationship between the province of Camarines Sur, the Yamaguchi Prefecture, and the beautiful country of Japan," said Governor Luigi Villafuerte as he welcomed the Yamaguchi Prefectural Assembly delegates at the Tourism Building, Capitol Complex.
Together with Leader-Ambassador Yoshida Mitsuhiro, the delegates of the Yamaguchi Prefectural Assembly (YPA) from the country of Japan visited the province of Camarines Sur on November 15 to 16, 2022. Governor Luigi Villafuerte, along with first district representative Hon. Tsuyoshi Anthony “Hori” Horibata, accompanied the Japanese dignitaries on their two-day visit. To ensure the safety and security of the event, the Philippine National Police was also present during the entire trip to the province.
To further promote the Japanese language and culture, the YPA first visited the Southeast Asian Institute of Computer Technology (SEAict), which offers free Japanese Language course under one of its programs, the Camarines Sur Japanese Language and Cultural Center (JLCC). The JLCC proudly presented their Nihongo class as well as the institution’s achievements and future plans to further develop the Japanese language with the end goal of assisting students aspiring to be employed in Japan.
“Since our arrival at Naga Airport, we were already welcomed with many surprises from Governor Luigi and Congressman Hori and it was a warm and amazing experience. Thank you so much! It was also a first-time experience for us when we arrived at Gov. Luigi’s office, to be welcomed by platoon of police officers who gave us a salute. I really loved the experience—I like this place already,” said Yoshida Mitsuhiro, the YPA-Leader Ambassador in his message during the SEAict-JLCC visit.
