Caramoan showcased in an international movie ‘Pasional’
Camarines Sur’s Caramoan is shaping up to be the premiere paradise island destination. Known for its powder white and pink sand and thriving floral and fauna, it has been a hidden gem known to locals and adventurous tourists. But now, it will be showcased in the international film Pasional. The movie, premiering on Valentine’s Day this year, is a romantic multi-cultural collaboration between Filipino and Argentinian production teams. It stars one of GMA’s brightest actresses, Andrea Torres together with Argentinian actor, Marcelo Melingo and Caramoan served as one of the backdrops for some of the most romantic scenes from the movie.
Originally, the choice of location was El Nido which the Argentinian creative team fancied. But Bicolano composer and director Ferdinand Dimadura, who is also one of the movie’s producers, urged the Argentinians to reconsider as he strongly believed Caramoan was a perfect fit for the movie.”I’ll go to Caramoan and film for three days and I will get the best shots possible,” Ferdinand said. The Argentinian producer Luciano Croato, however, warned him that it would take a miracle to change their minds. But Ferdinand was unfazed. So after three days of filming, he sent his edited film of Caramoan to the Argentinians for consideration and presented it in a way very few filmmakers have ever done. The Argentinian director was impressed. He instantly loved the place. And decided that Caramoan will be the place where the movie PASIONAL will be filmed. And when arrived in Caramoan, they realised they made the right decision.
Catch Caramoan’s mystical beauty in Pasional. Showing on February 14, 2024 in cinemas. The movie is also co produced with GMA, Malevo Films, Stagecraft International and Maxi One Production.
