Catechists go beyond catechesis

By Antonette Eduardo

A heartwarming initiative that enriched and inspired the lives of many took place on November 9, 2024, at Casugad Elementary School in Bula, Camarines Sur.

The catechists of St. Clare of Assisi Vicariate, with support from Lay Formation Institute (LFI) and generous benefactors, donors, and volunteers, came together to distribute school kits to 473 students, from kindergartners to college. Each kit includes an estampita of Inâ, snacks, and candy packs.

The initiative will continue on November 13, 2024, as the group is set to distribute school bags, school supplies, and hygiene kits at San Isidro Elementary School and Salvacion Que Gatos Elementary School in Nabua, Camarines Sur. It was a partnership with National Bookstore through their Project Aral Program. In addition to school supplies, food packs, Inâ’s estampita, and rosaries will be distributed as reminders of the power of faith and fellowship as they journey together as children of God.

St. Clare of Assisi Vicariate catechists has embraced sharing the faith through teaching but also living it out through service.

“May this act of giving inspire all to continue spreading kindness and support to illuminate the path of the future generation,” one of the volunteers catechists shared.

“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” [2 Corinthians 9:7]
