The Caceres Catechetical Ministry conducted a Team Building session themed “Catechists on the Journey, Embracing Unity as one Community” at the Don Bosco Covered Courts last April 24, 2025.

The morning started with registration and welcoming of the 69 participants, with community animation and an opening prayer. The welcome message was delivered by Rev. Fr. Marlon Entico Eleosida, SDB, Parish Priest, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Carolina, Naga City.

Catechist Fanny Trasmaño introduced the team building facilitator, Karlo Jerome Llorin of the KJL Business Consultancy.

The first session began with a big group activity to liven up the community of catechists. Next were activities of interpersonal communication and dialogic, and interparish modes of conversations in deepening personal ties.

The third session emphasized mental and physical group synchronization of the community members.

The facilitator emphasized “Communities who do not bond cannot build,” and that dialogue is key for the growth of Christian communities.

The event’s lead organizer, Vicarial Coordinator Sr. Arlene Lorente, DM supported Llorin’s input, based on three guidelines of Pope Francis: a culture of dialogue as the path (kultura nin pakikipag-ulay bilang dalan); mutual cooperation as the code of conduct (pagtinarabangan bilang panundon sa marhay na gibo), and reciprocal understanding as the method and standard (pagsinarabutan nin lambang saro bilang paagi asin susugán) and integrated her own points.

The culminating group activity expressed the importance of each member and the gratitude of each other. Catechist Ting Salvosa delivered a message of gratitude to the facilitator.

The participants were from the parishes of the Vicariate of St. John the Evangelist. Parishes belonging to this vicariate are St. Francis of Assisi Parish, San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish - Abella; St. Anthony of Padua Parish - Camaligan; St. Teresa of Culcatta Parish-Dugcal Camaligan; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish; Our Lady of Pen̈afrancia Parish, and St. John the Evangelist Parish-Cathedral.

The Our Lady of Penafrancia Vicariate is the other vicariate in the Central District of the Archdiocese. The parishes belonging to this Vicariate are St. Jude Thaddeus Parish; Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Parish; Mater Salutis Parish-Cararayan; Holy Cross Parish-Tabuco; and St. Dominic Guzman Parish-Gainza.

Sr. Lorente, DM, and the core group conducted an evaluation and planning session after the said team building.
