Cayetano’s program aids Albay store owners
Two hundred sari-sari store owners in the 14 barangays of Oas town in Albay province received assistance from Senator Alan Peter Cayetano thru his Sari-saring Pag-Asa Program (SSP) last Monday, February 27, this year. The assistance is intended to help them address their daily needs and to be able to support their small businesses.
The SSP is Senator Alan Peter Cayeteno’s flagship program for budding business owners. “Sari-sari stores are one of the best training grounds for doing business,” the independent senator said.
The store owners in Oas received help in the form of P3,500 cash and a booklet explaining the program and giving them tips on how they can grow their business. The beneficiaries were from Barangays Pistola, San Juan, San Isidro, Bagsa, San Agustin, Mapurong, Tubog, San Vicente, Culiat, Bongoran, Iraya Norte, Iraya Sur, Ilaor Norte, and Mayao.
Ludy, one of the SSP beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the assistance she received for her business. “2021 po ako nagtayo ng sari-sari store. Lubos po akong nagpapasalamat dahil madadagdagan po ang aking puhunan para rito,” she said.
“Maraming salamat po sa Sari-saring Pag-Asa Program,” said Melody, another sari-sari store owner and SSP beneficiary.
The release of assistance was done in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and with the help of Oas, Albay Mayor Ging Escoto and Iraya Norte Barangay Captain Greggy Ricarte.
“Sa ating butihing Senator Kuya Alan Cayetano, binigay ninyong SSP dito sa bayan ng Oas, ako po ay nagpapasalamat in behalf sa aming constituents sa inyong programa. Sana po ay marami pa pong programa na maibigay sa aming bayan,” Mayor Escoto said.
