Child advocate group convenes community volunteers

VIRAC, Catanduanes --- Educo Philippines conducted community volunteer assembly in this island province on July 28, 2023, at E-Crown Hotel and Resort.
The activity was initiated for selected EduCo community volunteers from Caramoran town who pledged their commitment to service through the ceremonial launching of the community volunteers management team, signaling the beginning of a transformative journey.
In her message, Educo Philippines Country Director Gemma Castillo-Goliat stressed the role that the community volunteers (CV) play in Educo PH. She said that CVs are not just volunteers but are also considered ‘informal members’ of the organizational structure of Educo.
On the other hand, Educo PH Director of Programs Marlon Villanueva discussed the framework of Educo and its organizational structure.
The assembly was graced by representative from the Office of Governor Joseph C. Cua and Caramoran Town Mayor Glenda Aguilar. Also present were representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, as well as media partners.
In her message, Mayor Aguilar expressed gratitude to Educo Philippines for its intitiative and programs intended for youth development. She also emphasized that she is optimistic that these initiatives will mold the youth to become responsible members of the society.

Aguilar also urged the participants to continue supporting the programs of Educo PH.
With the support of dedicated community volunteers, EduCo has set its sights on bolstering child protection, specifically eradicating child labor and ensuring universal access to education in the Bicol region. Their comprehensive approach includes focusing on vital aspects like education, nutrition, governance, and livelihood, which will pave the way for a better tomorrow for the region’s children.
During the program, the stakeholders which includes the CVs, partner agencies and local government units, took part in the ‘Tree of Commitment’ launching symbolizing their dedication to the cause.
