NAGA CITY - The Congress for Lay Leaders was held last Saturday, March 8, at the Archbishop Legaspi Hall at the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Peñafrancia. More than two hundred leaders of various parish pastoral councils, religious organizations and movements participated in the said event. The Pastoral Department of the Archdiocese, headed by the Vicar General, Fr. Wilfred Almoneda, facilitated the spiritual conversations that transcribed. The goal of the Congress was to gather all lay pastoral leaders, engage with them and listen to what they can put on the table as the Archdiocese aspires to achieve a synodal church. Fr. Fidel Bagayaua gave a talk on “Empowering Leaders”, Fr. Wilmer Tria on “Catholic Citizenship and Education Engagement”, and Fr. Marc Real on a brief orientation regarding the PPCRV. In the afternoon, Fr. Francis Tordilla presented the results of the Survey on Social Issues participated by parish priests. Ms. Julma Narvadez guided the participants to a meaningful spiritual conversation focusing on questions regarding the prevalent social issues in the Archdiocese, and suggested ways to address them. The virbant gathering culminated with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Caceres Archbishop Rex Andrew Alarcon. (Source: Archdiocese of Caceres Facebook page)
