Cops seize P2.6-M drugs

LEGAZPI CITY --- The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) has confiscated PHP2.6 million worth of illegal drugs during a weeklong operation from May 5 to 11.
During this period, police operatives arrested 21 individuals, including four high-value targets (HVIs) and 17 street-level individuals (SLIs).
PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon reported that officers seized 392.884 grams of shabu and 1.60 grams of marijuana.
Among the provinces, Albay recorded the highest value of confiscated illegal drugs, totaling PHP1.71 million, followed by Naga City with PHP877,296; Camarines Sur with PHP33,687.20; Camarines Norte with PHP29,852; Masbate with PHP8,432; and Sorsogon with PHP3,496.
The PNP Bicol said it remains committed to eradicating illegal drugs and enhancing public safety.
Dizon said this accomplishment reflects the unit's strong commitment to combat illegal drug activities in Bicol.
He also highlighted the importance of community cooperation in identifying suspects and reporting suspicious activities, emphasizing the role of collective action in crime prevention.
The PNP Bicol assured the public that all arrested individuals will face appropriate charges under the law, ensuring that justice is served promptly. (PNA)
