By Danica D. Caballero

LEGAZPI CITY --- The regional office here of Department of Education (DepEd) announced last Wednesday, February 1, that it was already preparing for the upcoming validation and onsite assessment for the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM).

To be conducted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the assessment will determine DepEd’s compliance with requirements on recruitment and selection, performance management system, learning and development, and rewards and recognition by the CSC using the enhanced PRIME-HRM assessment tool.

The assessment also aims to look into the human resource processes, compliance with civil service laws, rules and regulations, associated with human resource programs and records maintenance of the government agencies such as DepEd.

Aligned with the CSC’s PRIME HRM goal to empower government agencies to meet global standards, DepEd 5 Regional Director Atty. Gilbert Sadsad is assertive that DepEd 5 will obtain the certification for Maturity Level II and will exhibit progress for the agency.

“This will serve as a new milestone for DepEd Region V as well as a challenge for all of us to maintain our commitment to implement the PRIME HRM and maintaining meritocracy and excellence in public service to make our clients happy, satisfied, and delighted.” said Director Sadsad.

The validation and onsite assessment is set to start on February 22 to February 23,2023. (PIA/Marian Geraldine Bayta, Bicol University intern, contributed to this report.)
