DepEd Naga opens school for pilot in-person classes

By Jason B. Neola

Schools Division Superintendent Mariano de Guzman of the Department of Education (DepEd) in Naga City announced that the Panicuason Elementary School opened on Thursday, Dec.2, as pilot site for the in-person learning modality.

The school has a little over 200 kinder pupils and students from Grades I to VI who are to undergo beginning Dec. 2, in-person classes, which is the traditional type of learning instruction.

In-person or face-to-face learning is an approach where course content and learning material are taught in person to a group of students. The method allows for a live interaction between a learning group and an instructor.

De Guzman said his office is also eyeing the San Isidro Elementary School to offer the same learning modality once it met the parameters set by the DepEd head office.

Not a single case of Covid-19 in Barangay Panicuason has been recorded by the Naga City Health Emergency Task Force and the Department of Health in Bicol for more than 28 days now.
