DepEd’s Quick Count: 351,539 enrolees in Bicol

THE Department of Education in Naga City has registered a total of 19,729 enrolees from July 3-8 this year. This data is part of the larger Department of Education Learners Information System-Quick Count, which recorded 351,539 enrolees nationwide during the same period.

The figures are expected to increase as enrolment continues until July 26.

Of the total enrolees, 176,480 are boys and 175,059 are girls. Breaking down the numbers by educational level, 198,944 students enrolled in elementary, 106,383 in junior high school, and 45,804 in senior high school.

Additionally, 408 students were registered as non-graded, indicating they are not yet ready for inclusion in a regular class.

In the Bicol Region, public schools have enrolled a total of 311,592 students, while private schools have registered 39,558 students.

State universities and colleges/local universities and colleges (SUC/LUC) have recorded 389 enrolees. Notably, no enrolees have been recorded in the Alternative Learning System (ALS) to date.

Among the Bicol provinces, Albay leads with the highest number of enrolees at 122,475, followed by Camarines Norte with 46,632 enrolees.

In terms of cities within the region, Naga City tops the list with 19,729 enrolees, while Tabaco City has the least with 3,269 enrolees.
