DepEd slams slay of school principal

The Department of Education (DepEd) School Division of Masbate on Tuesday, May 25, has condemned the brutal killing of an elementary school principal in San Jacinto town on May 22.
Nene Merioles, Masbate School Division superintendent in a press statement said it condemned the killing of James Villamor, school principal of Interior Elementary School of San Jacinto town who was gunned down in his house by still unidentified suspects.
Merioles said “SDO Masbate denounces all forms of violence against our learners, teachers and other personnel as we call on the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and look forward to results that will bring the perpetrators to justice.”
A police report said the victim while inside the house with his wife Daisy, two unidentified suspects armed with handguns barged into the victim’s house in Barangay Calipat-an at around 10:30 PM.
One of the gunmen fired several rounds at the victim hitting him in various parts of his body.
The victim was rushed to the Ticao District Hospital but died while being treated.
Recovered from the crime scene was a slug and two empty shells from still unknown caliber gun.
