DAET, Camarines Norte --- The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) recently launched the e-GovPH and e-LGU system in Camarines Norte, seeking support from the public.
Government Digital Transformation Bureau Director June Vincent Manuel Gaudan emphasized that the DICT aims to elevate everyone’s digital experience and move forward with digital transformation.
“DICT is here to heed the call of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in his recent State of the Nation Address that doing digital transformation is the call of today,” he said.
Gaudan highlighted the challenges of the current government system, such as multiple agencies for a single transaction, excessive forms, red tape, and complex websites.
He explained that the e-GovPH App aims to synchronize various government services into a unified online system.
The platform includes existing e-government platforms like eGovDXplatform, eNGA, eLGU, eGovPH, digital National ID, eTravel, eReport, eHealth, National ID e-verify, eVisaPH, eNews, eJobs, PH Startup Dev’t Program, Philippine E-Commerce Platform, eGov AI, Green Lanes, eKYC, eGovChain, and eReceipt. Gaudan also highlighted the features of the e-GovPH App, such as accessing eTravel, obtaining a digital National ID, finding jobs at e-Jobs, and reporting crimes at eReport.
Additionally, the e-LGU system is a new platform primarily for the Business Permit and Licensing System (BPLS), with other purposes including barangay clearance, building permit, real property tax, local civil registration, and occupancy permits.
Local officials, including Mayor Severino Francisco of Labo town and Mayor Alexander Pajarillo of Mercedes, expressed their support and commitment to the digitalization program, saying their people will benefit from the program.
They highlighted the opportunities and benefits digitalization brings to their municipalities, such as additional income through online tax payments.
“Naniniwala kami na malaking oportunidad ang digitalization sa pag-unlad sa Camarines Norte, walang dapat maiwan na mga bayan, lubos ang aming pagsuporta sa bagong teknolohiya para mapaunlad ang aming bayan at gagamitin namin ang aming resources upang ito ay maisakatuparan,” Mayor Severino Francisco of Labo town said.
(We believe that digitalization is a big opportunity in the development of Camarines Norte, no municipalities should left behind, we support the new technology to improve our municipalities and we will use our resources to implement the program).
On the other hand, Mayor Alexander Pajarillo of Mercedes said that through digitalization, they will be having an additional income for their municipality because those who want to pay taxes who are living outside the town or countries can pay dues using the eGovPH App.
After the launching, the DICT educated information officers, information technology personnel, and municipal administrators on utilizing the e-GovPH app and installing the e-LGU system.
The DICT also organized a session for barangay and SK officials to learn about the e-GovPH app and encouraged them to disseminate this knowledge to their constituents. (PIA5/Camarines Norte)
