DILG, DPWH led ceremonial turn-over of bridge project in Tabaco

LEGAZPI CITY---The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bicol, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Albay, Local Government Units (LGUs) and other stakeholders held the ceremonial turnover of Pawa-Bangkilingan Bridge in the said barangay in Tabaco City on Jan. 17, Tuesday.
According to DILG Bicol, the rehabilitation of the bridge was worth P30 Million pesos under the FY 2021 Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Assistance Program (DRRAP).
‘’The Pawa-Bangkilingan Bridge was redesigned and rebuilt after the onslaught of Typhoon Rolly in 2020,’’ Tabaco City Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro stated.
Mayor Luistro stated that the immediate response of Tabaco City engineering team and City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) secured the funding assistance under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) DRRAP.

In an issuance by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Tabaco City has received P65,589,829 Million fund. ‘’Tabco City ranks as the LGU [in the province of Albay] with the highest funding received from the national calamity fund,’’ Mayor Luistro stated.

Under Republic Act No. 11518, also known as General Appropriations Act of 2021, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) declared that the LGSF-DRRAP will aid the reconstruction of the economy and livelihood in LGU’s that are directly affected by Taal Volcano eruption, Typhoon Quinta, Super Typhoon Rolly, and Typhoon Ulysses.
