DILG turns over P36-M infrastructure projects in Catanduanes

VIRAC, Catanduanes --- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recently turned over P36.6 million worth of infrastructure projects to different barangays in the municipalities of Virac and San Miguel in Catanduanes.
These projects, which were financed by the Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP), included five roads, two water systems, and a health station.
According to DILG Provincial Director Uldarico S. Razal Jr., the LGSF-SBDP aims to improve the overall well-being and sustainable development of geographically isolated disadvantaged areas, particularly those affected by communist insurgency.
In total, 16 projects were completed in 2023, with a budget of P66 million.
Among the projects that were completed and turned over was a two-story health station in Barangay Danicop, Virac.
In San Miguel, the projects included the opening and concreting of a road and the rehabilitation of a farm-to-market road in Barangay Balatohan, the rehabilitation of a farm-to-market road in Barangay Kilikilihan, the upgrading of a farm-to-market road in Barangay San Marcos, the improvement of the level 3 water system in Barangay J.M. Alberto, and the rehabilitation/improvement of the level 3 water system in Barangay Pagsangahan.
Danicop Barangay Captain Bairan Sorera expressed his gratitude to the government for building the health station, which will provide immediate health assistance in their locality.
